Red feathers signify unlimited life force energy, physical vitality, stability, strength, passion, power and courage. It's also a wealth color that signifies money and prosperity.
Love is in the air.
I made a piece for a client that wanted to have a special Valentine's Day gift for her man. She wanted a smaller version of a birch frame that had their initials carved in one of the trees. I was all over this piece, because I love LOVE. I love to see people in LOVE.
When making an art piece for a client things just come together as you design it. I always like to have a story or meaning to the piece. It brings the piece alive.
In this piece, I felt it was important to bring out symbolism. I wanted to incorporate the color red into the piece without having a red heart screaming from it plus I like to keep my material natural within the art.
Because I'm also fascinated by angels, and angels have wings, and wings are made of feathers, I wanted the red feather to tell a story about love and relationships. Angels have the innate responsibility of spreading love and sharing purity in this hardcore world. While they carry out their duty of spreading peace and love in this world, they leave behind traces of themselves for us to follow and believe in.
That's what I want my clients to feel and believe each time they see their art piece.
I want them to feel love. Be in love. Stay in love. And know that they have angels looking after them and their relationship.
